Mini Elephant Toothpaste Kit

Description

Includes all the consumable materials you need to repeat the popular “old foamy” or “elephant’s toothpaste” demonstration. You will need to provide a glass reaction vessel of an approximate volume of 4-5 fluid ounces (100-150 ml). Use caution with this kit, as the hydrogen peroxide is severely corrosive to skin. The reaction gives off considerable heat and steam. An overflow tray or outdoor area is strongly recommended, as the oxidized iodide (becoming elemental iodine) persistently stains everything.

Materials Included: Hydrogen Peroxide, 30-35%, 25 ml; Potassium Iodide Solution, 2 Molar, 10 ml; Dishwashing liquid, 5 ml. Food coloring is recommended but not included. (Food coloring is not required to conduct the demonstration, it only adds some visual appeal.)

Shipping: This kit is not regulated for shipping because the volume of hydrogen peroxide is less than 30 ml. Shipped by ground service only (typically UPS Ground).
