Acetic Anhydride is a DEA List 2 chemical. 21 CFR § 1310.04 describes a threshold quantity of 250 gallons, which means that transactions less than 250 gallons (or multiple transactions within a calendar month adding up to 250 gallons) are not regulated. Liberty Scientific, as a matter of company policy, will not sell more than 1 liter acetic anhydride to an individual customer or more than 4 liters acetic anhydride to an academic or business customer in a calendar year.
